Pump it up! Give me volume!

i want volume and texture

Want texture and volume? You’ve heard of texturising spray. You’ve heard of texturising powder. So, what is the difference?

volumising powder VS spray

Texturising powder

A powder, you guessed it, is a powder. It comes in packaging that resembles a large salt-shaker. You shake the powder onto your scalp and immediately it gives your hair that little extra volume you’ve been craving.

It is usually white but once on your hair, turns transparent so that no one thinks you’re flaking.

Powders leaves a heavier residue in the hair but creates more volume and thickness, especially in thin hair.

Texturising spray

A spray comes in a bottle that looks like the average dry shampoo bottle. You can spray it all over your hair for an instant volume boost.

The spray adds grit to the air, making it easier to style. It is less heavy than powder and is easier to apply to the roots, however, the thickness and volume of hair will be less.

Neither the spray nor the powder needs brushing out.

So how do I pick which is right for me?

Well, it really depends on your hair type and what you want the end result to be.

If you have fine, limp or thin hair, texturising powders may be your one true love. This is because of the mega volume and thickness boost it will give you.

If you’re not a product-lover and don’t like the feeling of being weighed down, a volumising spray may be what you’re looking for. It will give you the boost you need and will also help you to style your hair more.

At the end of the day, you can use either. Both are similar in that they give you volume. The biggest difference is the end results and how the hair will feel, so it really depends on what you’re used to and what you like.
